Watson Amelia, also known as Amelia Watson, is a Virtual YouTuber associated with hololive. She is a female English-speaking VTuber. Also, she debuted in 2020 as part of hololive English’s first-generation—Myth. Amelia is a detective character who loves solving puzzles and mysteries. She often incorporates her love for solving cases into her live streams and content.

The Lore

She embodies a unique and captivating persona as a detective specializing in investigating supernatural phenomena worldwide.

Her origin as a time traveler from a different point in time is one of the most intriguing aspects of Watson Amelia’s character. Her love for solving puzzles and mysteries led her to research Hololive.

That ultimately led her to become a VTuber herself. But her exact reasons for doing so remain unknown.

One of Amelia Watson’s most notable possessions is a portable time machine that enables her to travel to different periods of time. With this time machine, she can explore different eras and witness historical events firsthand.

Amelia also has access to various serums that she can use to affect her opponents. These serums are typically injected via syringes, which she carries with her at all times. When injected into an opponent, the serums cause the victim to experience vivid illusions and altered perceptions. This can be a potent weapon in combat or when trying to manipulate others.

Amelia is also skilled in the use of firearms. She has been known to wield guns in the past and is proficient in their use.

Amelia Watson’s Personality

Amelia is a quirky girl who loves socializing and teasing her holoMyth crewmates. She’s typically kind, supportive, and always willing to help out her fellow members, like when she assists Gura in Minecraft. However, she also likes to make jokes and sometimes says a bit risqué, such as naming one of her Minecraft mines “Gura’s Backdoor.”

Amelia has a “Gremlin Mode” personality that comes out during competitive online games like Apex Legends and Valorant. In this mode, she can be greedy, proud, and a bit unsportsmanlike, which has earned her the title of “True Gamer” from her fans.

In Gremlin Mode, she speaks with a unique voice that sounds like a mix of a high-pitched wheeze, a reptilian screech, and the final breath of a dying squeaky toy.

She’s not afraid to troll her viewers and call out her chat when the opportunity presents itself, like when she darkened her Minecraft shaders and pretended to fix them innocently.

One of Amelia’s most well-known jokes is “ground pounding your mom,” which she said during a Super Mario Odyssey playthrough and has since become synonymous with her character. She frequently makes similar lewd jokes seemingly out of nowhere.

It may seem like she has no filter, but that’s not entirely true. She does have a filter, but she often says outrageous things anyway.

Despite her naughty side, Amelia’s sweetness and saltiness make her a beloved figure among her fans.

Is Amelia Watson actually Sachiowo?

It’s a known fact in the VTuber community that Amelia is actually Sachiowo. Who is Sachiowo, you say?

Sachiowo’s Background

Sachiowo was a former Twitch streamer from America who eventually transitioned into becoming a VTuber. Her YouTube channel showcased highlights and clips from her Twitch streams.

Her final video on the channel was a retrospective of her VTuber model’s evolution over her streaming career.

During her time on Twitch, Sachiowo streamed various games, including Amnesia: Memories, Valorant, VRChat, Fall Guys, Counter Strike: Global Offensive, Overwatch, APEX Legends, and Project Diva Mega 39s.

Her channel was popular with viewers who enjoyed watching her play games and react to videos.

Sachiowo’s streams were known for being engaging and entertaining, and her viewers appreciated her sense of humor and friendly demeanor. She often interacted with her audience, answering questions and responding to real-time comments.

One of Sachiowo’s earliest videos on YouTube was a clip of her playing Beat Saber to the tune of Renai Circulation. Over time, her channel grew in popularity as she continued to stream various games and build a dedicated community of fans.

Ultimately, Sachiowo’s decision to become a VTuber marked a new chapter in her streaming career. While she may no longer be streaming on Twitch, her impact on the platform and her loyal following continue to resonate with fans to this day.

How Sachiowo Became Our Beloved Amelia Watson

Rumor has it that Sachiowo received an offer from hololive that she couldn’t refuse. And we get it. Anyone of us would give up our careers to be a part of hololive.

But the sad thing is that she had to delete her official Twitter account, VODs, YouTube videos, etc. She erased all the memories she made as Sachiowo from existence. I guess that’s the price you have to pay to join hololive.

That said, this did give birth to our favorite unhinged VTuber: Amelia Watson! So who are we to complain, right?

Amelia Watson’s Face Reveal

With a little bit of our own detective ability, we figured out who is the person behind Amelia Watson (She’s Sachiowo, in case you skipped directly to this section). And luckily, she did a face reveal back when she used to voice Sachiowo! Here’s how Amelia Watson, or should we say Sachiowo, looks in real life:

Amelia Watson’s Evolution

On April 23, 2020, Cover Corporation announced that they were holding auditions for English-speaking members of their popular hololive VTuber group following the success of the Japanese-language group. The initial round of auditions lasted until May 24.

Amelia Watson was one of the hopefuls who auditioned for the group. During her audition, she admitted that she wasn’t exceptionally skilled at singing or drawing but felt good at playing video games and had an entertaining personality.

When Cover responded by advising her to begin taking singing lessons, she took it as a positive sign. To show her interest, she prepared many questions to ask the interviewers. Before her audition, Ame studied emergency medicine as a backup career.

After passing the audition, Ame celebrated by tidying her room. The members of -Myth- began their training in June 2020, three months before their official debut.

Ame’s YouTube channel and Twitter account were created on July 16. On September 8 of the same year, Watson Amelia was officially revealed in a short promotional video alongside the other four members of hololive -Myth-.

The announcement was made simultaneously on the hololive Twitter, and the hololive English Twitter accounts. Her first tweet was made on the same day.

Her Debut

On September 12, 2020, Ame made her much-anticipated debut stream as the final member of hololive -Myth- to debut.

She slept for a few hours in the 36 hours leading up to the stream. Despite that, Ame was fully prepared and had even stayed up to watch the previous members’ debuts.

Ame had intended to open her debut stream with an elaborate lore video describing her origins in the 1920s, but unfortunately, it wasn’t completed on time.

Instead, she began the stream with a British accent, which turned out to be a clever ploy suggested by her manager Enma to appease viewers expecting a Sherlock Holmes-esque character to be British.

Ame then sang Puru Puru Pururin, an insert song from the anime Welcome to the NHK, showcasing her talent as a singer.

In a surreal and entertaining moment towards the end of the stream, Ame injected the viewer with “Watson Concoction,” resulting in bizarre hallucinations. The stream lasted for one hour and thirty-five minutes.

Shortly after Ame’s debut, the first hololive -Myth- collaboration stream was held, during which Ame performed her role as a detective by investigating the other members.

The collaboration stream was a huge success and further solidified the bond between the hololive -Myth-members.

2020: The 500K Milestone

Ame achieved a significant milestone on October 25th, 2020, when she reached 500,000 subscribers on her YouTube channel. This achievement made her the 17th hololive member to reach this milestone and the third member of the English branch to do so.

Reaching half a million subscribers is a significant accomplishment for any content creator. Ame’s achievement is a testament to her hard work and dedication to providing high-quality content for her fans.

Her unique personality, sense of humor, and entertaining streams have helped her attract a large and loyal following.

2021: She Crosses The 1.5M Subscriber Count

On February 11, Ame hit a milestone of 1 million YouTube subscribers, becoming the 9th hololive member and the 3rd member of the English branch to reach this milestone, after Gawr Gura and Mori Calliope.

All members of holoMyth revealed new chibi models based on popular fan designs by Walfie on April 1. On April 30, hololive’s Twitter account announced that every member of holoMyth would get their second 2D costume.

On June 5, Amelia organized a 9-hour charity stream to raise money for Best Friends Animal Society, an animal charity organization in the United States. The campaign goal was initially set at $15,000 but was surpassed, ultimately raising $235,972.69.

On October 31, -Myth- debuted their first original song, “Myth or Treat,” during a Halloween collab with every hololive EN member attending. Calli wrote the song lyrics, and the official video later debuted the same day.

The same day, she reached the milestone of 1.5 million YouTube subscribers. That makes her the 7th hololive member to reach this milestone and the 3rd member of the English branch.

On December 10, Amelia debuted her third 2D costume, featuring two new hairstyles, a silver crown, a black necklace with nine small ornaments, a short black dress with thin braces, and a white flower pattern. Amelia also has a tattoo on her left forearm and holds a bag in her left hand with a knife in a sheath on her left leg. The black dress is complemented by a more transparent, larger dress tied on her wrists. Amelia can also wear black shades and her famous mustache. This costume revealed that Amelia had a mole on her left breast.

2022: The Growth Continues

Here’s a summary of Amelia Watson’s 2022 events:

• On January 6, Amelia revealed that she could combine her hairstyles from her black dress outfit with her casual clothes. Hololive’s Twitter account also announced that Myth and Council members would get new year costumes.
• On January 9, Amelia debuted her fourth 2D costume, a kimono, with two new hairstyles. Her kimono has a blue upper section with gold fishes and flower patterns and a long skirt that goes from yellow to orange. She can also “wear” a goldfish in a plastic bag on her head, which she claims is a robot.
• On the same day, holoMyth debuted their second original song, “Journey Like a Thousand Years.”
• On February 25, Amelia did a surprise karaoke off-collab with Ninomae Ina’nis, Ouro Kronii, Ceres Fauna, and Nanashi Mumei.
• On March 19, Amelia debuted her 3D model during “hololive 3rd fes. Link Your Wish” day 1.
• From March 14 to 25, Amelia took a brief hiatus from streaming to set up her new office.
• On April 2, she debuted on Twitch with the account watsonamelia_hololiveen and announced her goals to reach 100k followers, stream at least 5 times per year on Twitch, and reach the maximum number of emote slots.
• On June 28, -Myth- held their first off collab on Amelia’s channel, with every member present.

2023: She Gets a New 3D VTuber Model

On January 17th, Amelia released her first original song, “ChikuTaku,” along with a music video that teased her upcoming official rhythm game. She then released the game (ChikuTaku) on itch.io on January 23rd. On March 3rd, Amelia officially debuted her 3D model on her YouTube channel.
And on March 18th, she debuted her 3D idol costume during hololive 4th fes. “Our Bright Parade” DAY 1.
